The Great British Bake Off

The Great British Bake Off is a popular British television series that follows a group of amateur bakers as they compete to be crowned the UK's Best Amateur Baker. The show is known for its wholesome atmosphere and its focus on creativity and skill.

We built and released the highly accessibility-focused official companion app for series 9 and 10 on iOS and Android. 

Connecting to the provided Server-side APIs to populate the content created by the show producers to provide recipes, bios, news and links to cookware products.

During our takeover of the project, we did the following:

• Creating the app for iOS and Android
• Advising on design principles for mobile applications
• Testing of functionality and performance
• Managing releases on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Defining APIs required to populate the app with content
• Designing system architecture
• Ingesting API data and rendering suitably in-app
• Managing, defining, and implementing accessibility features - such as screenreader compatibility and blind navigation
